Ephesians 6:16 meaning

The Christian life is often described as a battlefield, and believers are called to equip themselves for spiritual warfare. Central to this preparation is the vital role of faith, depicted as a shield in this passage. Faith serves not only as a defensive tool against the onslaught of spiritual attack but also as the foundation of our strength in God. The Apostle Paul emphasizes that we must take up the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one—temptations that seek to inflame our doubts and lead us astray. The faith referenced here is two-fold: a trust in God’s promises and an active application of that trust when faced with spiritual assaults, allowing believers to withstand temptation effectively.
