Luke 20:40 meaning

In the context of a tense confrontation between Jesus and the religious leaders, we find a significant moment when the authority of Jesus is both acknowledged and unchallenged. After He has skillfully answered and thwarted their attempts to trap Him with tricky questions, the scribes recognize that He has provided sound and wise responses.
