Levitical Cities of Kohath

This map shows several Levitical towns located within the tribal territories of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin, especially towns assigned to the descendants of Kohath. These towns include places such as Hebron, Juttah, Eshtemoa, Jattir, Debir, Beth-shemesh, Gibeon, Geba, Anathoth, and Almon/Alemeth, spread across the hill country, the Shephelah, and the region near Jerusalem and Jericho. The map reflects the LORD's provision for the Levites, who did not receive one large tribal inheritance like the other tribes but were given towns throughout Israel so they could serve, teach, and preserve worship among the people. It also highlights important places later connected to Israel's story, including Hebron, a city of refuge and priestly town, and Anathoth, the hometown of the prophet Jeremiah.
