1 Corinthians 14:31 meaning

In addressing the need for orderly worship in the Corinthian church, the Apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of prophecy as a means to edify the body of believers. His instruction highlights that each member of the congregation can contribute to mutual learning and encouragement. This model counters the excessive disorder that arose from the enthusiastic exercise of spiritual gifts, particularly tongues, which often overshadowed more intelligible forms of communication.
