Summary of the Nazirite Vow
Since the vow was for a specific amount of time and not permanent, the LORD required several things to be done when the time of the vow ended.
The summary statement of the law of the Nazirite who vows his offering to the Lord according to his separation is set forth here in verse 21. The details of this “offering” can be found in the commentary for verses 13 – 20.
There was another possible requirement mentioned here. The Nazirite was also to offer something in addition to what else he can afford. That is, the person was to give an additional offering based on what he or she had the financial capacity to give. This was done according to his vow which he takes, and it was to be done according to the law of his separation detailed in verses 1 – 20. It could possibly be connected with the Nazirite’s petition.
