In Proverbs 10:25, Solomon writes, When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation (v. 25). The whirlwind represents sudden testing, calamity, or judgment. Storms reveal what ordinary weather may conceal.
The wicked are swept away because their lives are built on what cannot endure. They may appear strong for a season, but when pressure comes, the absence of a true foundation becomes obvious. Evil has no lasting root because it is out of step with the God who upholds reality.
The righteous, however, have an everlasting foundation. Their lives rest on what is solid, and therefore they remain when the storm has passed.
