Proverbs 10:9 meaning

Integrity brings security, but crooked living will eventually be exposed.

In Proverbs 10:9, Solomon teaches, He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out (v. 9). This proverb connects integrity with stability. A truthful, upright life has a kind of security because it is not built on deceit.

To walk in integrity is to live with wholeness. A person is the same in public and private, with no hidden version of himself that must constantly be protected. That creates steadiness. Integrity does not guarantee an easy life, but it does free a person from the instability of double-minded living.

The one who perverts his ways twists what is straight. He distorts truth, bends justice, or manipulates appearances. Solomon says such a person will be found out, because reality eventually exposes falsehood. God has made truth durable and deceit fragile, so crooked living always carries the seed of exposure within it.
