In Proverbs 11:2, Solomon says, When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom (v. 2). Pride is one of the great enemies in Proverbs because it begins with the assumption that we know best apart from God. That spirit always bends a person away from truth, and once truth is abandoned, dishonor soon follows.
