Jesus tells His disciples that they should not be afraid of what people say against them for following Him. Their words don’t matter. God will reveal the truth. The disciples are to boldly proclaim Jesus’s teachings.

Amos reports what the LORD says to His covenant people. The LORD rejects Israel’s false worship and states He will send them into exile beyond Damascus.

Amos again announces judgment on the unrepentant Israel. The people of God will experience the day of the LORD and it will be a day of darkness, not of light; a day of judgment, not of rejoicing.

Amos tells the people that God’s judgment will bring widespread lamentation because many people will be dead when God passes through their land.

Having called individuals in Israel to seek God so that they may live, Amos portrays the LORD as the sovereign God who controls everything in the world.

Although the nation Israel will be destroyed in the prime of her youth, Amos calls Israel to seek God so that they may live.

Amos laments the destruction of Israel and predicts a casualty rate of 90 percent. In the prime of her youthful vigor, the nation Israel will be devastated, and nobody will rescue her.

God declares the Feast of Tabernacles to be one of His appointed times.

God proclaims the fall feasts. The first of which is the Feast of Trumpets. Literally in Hebrew “The day of the shout.”

God declares the Feast of Weeks to be one of His appointed times. The Feast of Weeks was later named “Pentecost” by Hellenized (Greek) Jews in 300 BC.

God declares the Feast of First Fruits to be His appointed time.

God declares the 14th day of the first month to be Passover. Passover starts a 7—day feast called Unleavened Bread; most see them as one feast.

The LORD describes Judah’s final prosperity. He promises to restore their blessings and give them freedom from their enemies.

The day of the LORD will be a time of judgment for the Gentile nations, but a time of deliverance for the sons of Israel. In consequence of this deliverance, the sons of Israel will acknowledge Yahweh as their Suzerain God.

The LORD commanded the nations to enter the Valley of Jehoshaphat, where He would judge them for their wickedness.
