Death is a common fate for all. Even so, there are advantages to life that will be nullified when death finds us. We have a choice to either lament (or deny) death, or to take its inevitability as motivation to make the most of today.

We all share a common destiny—death. All we do in life is in God’s hands.

Solomon reinforces the truth that full understanding is beyond human grasp. We can see and enjoy the work of God, but we cannot fully comprehend it.

Wisdom and prudence will save you some headaches, freeing you to rest, forgive, and adopt a healthy perspective.

Seeking balance and humility helps to reduce our sin frequency and steward our days with wisdom.

Wisdom can shade us from the difficulties of this world, starting with understanding that God is the true source of stability.

There are distractions and temptations, but patience and appreciating the present are the wisest options. They reduce distraction and allow wisdom to be most effective.

Some realities are difficult to accept but can lead to an awareness of the value of life. They provide an opportunity to gain wisdom and are therefore more valuable than trivial and temporary distractions.

A full understanding of the reality of humanity resides with God alone.  Apart from God, any attempt to explain the meaning of existence is futile.

Trying to find happiness through satisfying appetites is futile. It is better, more effective, and more fulfilling, to maintain an external focus rather than be controlled by internal desires.

Anyone who wastes the opportunity of God’s blessing is worse off than one who was never born at all.

There are severe consequences to squandering God’s gifts.

Life is not meaningless or joyless. Joy is something we can choose. God has given us an allotment to steward.
