The Messiah will be cut off, Jerusalem will be destroyed again. A prince will come in the future and betray Israel, but will ultimately be destroyed.

God answers Daniel: Seventy “sevens” have been decreed. Not only will Jerusalem be rebuilt and restored, but God will send His Messiah, sin and transgressions will be finished, disobedience will be atoned for, prophecies will be finished, and righteousness will last forever.

Gabriel, an angel from God, brings God’s answer to Daniel. At the moment Daniel began praying, God sent this messenger to speak to him.

After confessing sin and praising God for His righteousness, Daniel asks the Lord to hear his prayer. Daniel hopes that God will spare the Jews from further punishment, and restore them to Jerusalem.

While praying, Daniel meditates on the scale and intensity of God’s punishment toward His people. Daniel admits that God is right in all He does and the Jews have disobeyed Him.

While praying to God, Daniel emphasizes the righteousness of the Lord contrasted with the sinfulness of His people. Daniel, an exile, admits that God’s punishment is just.

Daniel prays to God. He praises the Lord for His faithfulness, and confesses the sins of the Jews’ disobedience.

Daniel reads the prophecies of Jeremiah concerning the 70 year punishment of the Jews.

After destroying the boastful horn, God will give rulership to the Son of Man and His people forever.

The Interpreter explains that the boastful horn will challenge God and attack God’s people. He will rule for 3 ½ years before God destroys him.

Daniel asks the Interpreter about the boastful horn who wages a war against God’s people. Daniel sees that God will judge the horn and give the earth to His people.

Daniel asks for an interpretation of this bizarre vision. An Interpreter tells him the four beasts are four kings on the earth who will fade away. But God’s people will receive a forever kingdom.

The boastful horn and its beast are killed by God and burned up. The other beasts lose their dominion, but are allowed to live.

A Son of Man arrives, surrounded by clouds. God gives Him power and glory to rule the earth forever.

A heavenly courtroom appears. The Eternal God sits on His fiery throne. He prepares to make a judgment.

The fourth beast has iron teeth and destroys whatever it wants. It has many horns on its head. One horn grows larger than the others and is boastful.

The first beast is like a winged lion, the second is like a bear with ribs in its mouth, the third is like a leopard with four wings and four heads.

Daniel has a vision of a stormy ocean. Four strange animals rise from the water.

Darius makes a new decree that declares Daniel’s God ruler.

God saves Daniel from the lions and Darius was very glad.
