Abram, his wife and nephew leave Haran and travel to Canaan. Abram builds an altar for the Lord in Canaan.

Conflicts break out between Lot and Abram’s herdsmen. The Canaanites and Perizzites lived in the land too.

God reminds Abram of the promise to give him numerous descendants and reaffirms the length and breadth of the land that will be theirs. Abram moves to Hebron and builds an altar.

Abram stays in Canaan and God restates His promises to give this land to him and his descendants.

Abram did not want any strife, so he gave Lot the choice of land. Lot chose the land to the east in the valley of Jordan. Uncle and nephew parted from each other.

Abram returns from Egypt to Canaan with even more wealth. He worships God for his blessings.

Pharaoh realizes that Sarai is Abrams wife and not his sister. He tells them to leave.

Pharaoh learned of Sarai’s beauty and treated Abram well by giving him gifts and servants. But God sent plagues to Pharaoh because Sarai was Abram’s wife.

In Egypt, Abram asks his wife to only say she is his sister for fear that the people will kill him and kidnap Sarai because she is a beautiful woman.

There is a great famine in the land, so Abram goes to Egypt.

God tells Abram to leave his home and country in order to move to another land. God promises blessings to Abram and that through Abram all the families of the earth will be blessed.

Shem had twenty-six descendants listed in the table of nations. A total of seventy nations were credited to Noah by his descendants.

Eber had two sons. Joktan had thirteen sons. Peleg fathered two sons, one of them was Abraham.

Shem had five sons. Aram was the father of four sons. Arpachshad was the grandfather of Eber and an ancestor of Abraham.

Canaan was the father of eleven sons. The land of the Canaanites was called Canaan which later was conquered by the Jews. Ham had a total of 30 descendants.

Nimrod was a mighty hunter. He built the kingdom of Babel and in Assyria, he built the city of Nineveh. Mizraim had seven sons.

Paul ends his letter with a blessing. His entire letter was about the gospel of grace and living by faith, living righteously through the resurrection power of Jesus, and here he closes with a summary.

Paul now sends greetings from those that are with him to the believers in Rome. 

Paul assures the believers in Rome that the report throughout the world is about their obedience and faith, but he still wants them to be wise. Paul gives them encouragement by saying that soon God will crush Satan.

Paul gives a final warning to the believers in Rome to be on guard against people who teach something different than the gospel. These people can be very convincing.
