Noah, his family, and all the animals left the ark. Noah built the first altar and offered sacrifices to the Lord. God was pleased with Noah and his sacrifices, and promises to never curse the ground again or destroy every living thing like He had done in this case.

The flood waters had completely dried up. But Noah waited until God said to leave the ark before they left. God commanded them to be fruitful and multiply on the earth.

Noah sent out a raven to see if the water had dried yet. It did not return, so Noah sent out a dove three times to test the status of the earth. Finally, a dove returned with an olive leaf, so Noah knew the waters had abated.

The rain stopped, and the underground waters were closed. God caused a wind to dry up the flood waters. The ark came to rest on the mountain tops of Ararat. Soon the tops of the mountains were visible. Specific dates are recorded, emphasizing that this is a historical record of an actual event.

Every living thing left on the earth died and was blotted out. Only Noah and those safe in the ark escaped the judgment of the flood. The flood water was on the earth 150 days before it began to recede.

By twos (male and female) they entered the ark, and God sealed the ark. The rain came and lifted the ark. It floated as the waters continued to rise even covering the mountains.

Noah was 600 years old when the flood came. There were eight people, and a male and female of every kind of animal on the ark as God had commanded. The waters of the flood came from the deeps of the earth and the sky. It rained for forty days and nights. However, Noah, his family, and all the animals were secure in the ark.

God tells Noah to enter the ark. Further instructions are to take a male and female of every unclean creature and seven pairs of every clean creature into the ark. The flood would begin in seven days and last forty days destroying every living thing on the earth. Noah obeyed God.

God gives Noah further instructions for the ark. Two of every kind (a male and female) shall come to the ark to be saved. Birds, animals, and creeping things were to be kept alive.

God tells Noah to make an ark and gives him specific instructions how to build it. God reminds Noah of the judgment of the flood and that everything on the earth will perish.

Noah was a righteous man. He had three sons; Shem, Ham, and Japheth. God told Noah He was about to destroy the world.

God saw that the wickedness of man was great and there was only evil in his heart continually. This grieved the Lord.

The world’s population continued to grow. The “sons of God” took wives from the daughters of men. God says He will not strive with mankind forever because man is sinful. The "Nephilim" were old mighty men of renown.

Methuselah was the father of Lamech and the grandfather of Noah. God chose Noah for a special purpose. Noah was the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Kenan was the father of Mahalalel. He was the father of Jared, who became the father of Enoch. Enoch was the father of Methuselah.

The beginning of the generations starts with Adam and his son Seth. Adam was 930 years old when he died. Seth was the father of Enosh. Seth died at the age of 912. Enosh was the father of Kenan. Enosh lived to be 905 years old.

Lamech’s two wives, Adah and Zillah, have children who continue to build in the city of Enoch. Meanwhile, Adam and Eve have another son named Seth. Through Seth, the godly lineage would continue.

Cain moves to the land of Nod. He starts a family and builds a city. His wife gives birth to Enoch and Cain names the city after the baby. More descendants of Cain are born.

God judges Cain for the murder of Abel and curses him. Cain complains that the punishment is too harsh and says that whoever finds him will kill him. So God places a mark of protection on Cain.

God tries to counsel Cain, warning him of giving into sin and tells him to master it. Cain gave into jealousy and sin, he killed his brother.
